                                                            This is one more type of poricha kozhambu my mother makes.I have posted almost all of them.This one is with hot  "pepper and lime" that is the difference.You can make vazhaikkai curry for this as a combination.Now let us look at making it .

You will Need

  • 350 gms of snake guard chopped
  • Juice from one lime
  • Few curry leaves
  • Few coriander leaves
  • Half cup of yellow dal
  • One tbs of Jaggery
  • Salt to taste
To Roast and Grind
  • One tbs of Urad dal
  • One tsp of Pepper
  • Three red chillies
  • Two tbs of Scraped coconut
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
To Temper
Few tsp of Oil
One tsp of Mustard seeds

How you Make It
1.Pressure cook the yellow dal(payatham paruppu)for two whistles.
2.Roast and the ingredients mentioned in the roast and grind heading and cool it.(add pepper and coconut towards the end does not have to get roasted well).
3.Boil the chopped snake guard in water with turmeric powder and salt.
4.Now grind the roasted ingredients in to a coarse powder.Once the vegetable gets cooked (soft) add the ground powder and the dal.
5.Add Lime juice,jaggery some more salt and asafoetida and some water to adjust the consistency.boil for few minutes till everything gets mixed up well and temper with mustard seeds in oil.Add chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves and enjoy with hot rice and ghee.
