Paruppu Thogayal

My grand mom used to make this Paruppu Thogayal with milagu kozhambu on Saturdays.We used to enjoy this on holidays.It is quiet simple to make.You just roast the Dal and the chillies in little bit of oil and grind it with salt after cooling.




Ingredients

Tur Dal
1cup
Red chillies
4-5
Salt
1-11/2tsp
Oil or ghee
1tbs


Method
1.Heat oil or ghee in a pan.when it gets warm pour the Dal and red chillies.
2.Roast till golden brown and cool it.
3.Grind into a smooth paste with salt.

Notes

  • You can add scraped coconut while grinding.
  • You can also add asafoetida.

Thanks for the lovely entry. The chutney looks mouthwatering. We add cumin seeds for additonal flavor.
