MochaKottai Sundal/Navrathri Sundal Recipes
Today being first day of Navrathri I decided to make Mochakottai or Mochai paruppu Sundal.I didn't know the order in which sundal has to be made which day which sundal but coincidentally first day of Navrathri you make Mochai paruppu sundal.Sundal recipes are very easy to make if you only you plan it a little earlier.I soaked the mochai paruppu the previous night itself and then pressure cooked it and prepared the Sundal for neivedhyam.

Kadalai paruppu Sundal/Navrathri Recipes
Navrathri is approaching I thought let me post some Sundal Recipes.I have already posted two other varieties of making sundal(sweet and masala). This type is quiet easy and simple and does not require too much time. You can make almost all the pulses in the same way except that the soaking and cooking time varies according to the dal.

Butter Beans Sundal/Navrathri Recipes
Butter Beans is a new sundal i tried today.I had not soaked any(bean or kadalai)for sundal for today so ran to the stores and was looking for a bean variety.First time i even saw these actually.I was wondering whether they were Lima beans or Soya beans but apparently they are "Butter Beans"..I just soaked them for 2-3 hours( i was not sure if it was enough and had a back up plan of instant yellow dal Sundal😜).After soaking for few hours pressure cooked them with salt for three whistles and then just seasoned it.It is quiet simple and it was so soft as butter!!!!

Karamani Sundal/Sweet and Salt Karamani Sundal
Karamani or black eyed pea or Lobia is a popular bean made as sundal during Navarathiri. There are two types of Karamani - brown and white in colour. We usually make sweet sundal with the brown Karamani.I make the sweet sundal also with some salt and red chillies but some people make it only sweet i.e only with jaggery and coconut. You can make it either way.I feel it is more tasty with salt and red chillies so that it is spicy and at the same time sweet.Otherwise it is easy to prepare and does not require a long soaking time.It is enough if you soak it for 3-4 hours and pressure cook it for few whistles.Today being first day of Navarathri I made both the versions of this sundal.

Pasi Paruppu Sundal
It is Navrathri and it is time for sundal recipes. You can check Spicy peanut sundal,Kadalai paruppu Sundal,Greengram sweet sundal and the payasam recipes for a quick reference for Navrathri.Payatham paruppu or paasi paruppu sundal is the most easiest of the sunda. There is no soaking or pressure cooking required. It is really ideal for one of those days when you have not planned or forgotten to soak any bean.It cooks really fast and it is easy to make.

Kondakadalai Sundal/Kabuli channa Sundal
Kondakadalai Sundal is a neivedhyam on pillayar chathurthi, varalakshmi pooja and Saraswathi pooja. It is a healthy and nutritious sundal too. There are two types of this kondakadalai(black and white). You can make the sundal with both and the recipe is the same.
It is very simple and easy recipe. My mother used to make a spicy version of this sundal during Navrathri she used to dry roast channa dal, coriander seeds, red chillies, coconut powder it and then add it to the sundal.

Thengai Mnagai Pattani Sundal
The famous sundal, sold in the marina beach of Chennai is a long time favorite with the Chennai-ites.Even today it is quite popular at the beach. However, as the beach food isn't considered safe, I'm providing a healthier alternative.
