Karamani Sundal/Sweet and Salt Karamani Sundal

Karamani or black eyed pea or Lobia is a popular bean made as sundal during Navarathiri. There are two types of Karamani - brown  and white in colour. We usually make sweet sundal with the brown Karamani.I make the sweet sundal also with some salt and red chillies but some people make it only sweet i.e only with jaggery and coconut. You can make it either way.I feel it is more tasty with salt and red chillies so that it is spicy and at the same time sweet.Otherwise it is easy to prepare and does not require a long soaking time.It is enough if you soak it for 3-4 hours and pressure cook it for few whistles.Today being first day of Navarathri I made both the versions of this sundal.
