This kootu is a special dish in my famliy.My grandmother used to make this.She used lime juice instead of tamarind extract in the kozhambu.Since it was different we all used to love it.
Ingredients
Tur dal | 3/4cup |
Cauliflower | 1cup |
Onion | 1 |
Tomato | 1 |
Peas | 1/2cup |
Potato | 1 |
Lime juice | 2tbs |
Salt | To taste |
Channa dal | 1tbs |
Coriander seeds | 1tbs |
Red chillies | 8 |
Coconut shredded | 1tbs |
oil | 1tbs |
Mustard seeds | 1tbs |
1.Pressure cook the tur dal and potato in the pressure cooker.
2.Dice other vegetables and boil them in water.
3.Roast and grind the ingredients mentioned in the table.
4.Once the vegetables are done add the ground powder.
5.Add the boiled dal.mashed potato and mix well and finally add lime juice.
6.Season with mustard seeds and serve with rice.
