Tandoori Aloo

Tandoori Aloo or Potato is a easy starter. The days I make dal for rotis it is not a complete or interesting menu for the kids,so I ended up making this starter today just to make the meal little more intersting and yummy! You can prepare the potatoes and keep it ready and fry them just when you are about to eat.

Rawa Urundai/Rawa Ladoo

"Rawa Ladoo" is a simple sweet or laddu made with rawa(semolina or sooji),sugar and a little ghee.It does not require any frying or too much Ghee, so you can really indulge in this sweet. My mother used to make the best Rawa Ladoo according to me. She used very little ghee but managed to make really large ladoos. Her Ladoos were very famous in our extended family.Every diwali this is the first sweet she would make.

Puli Ingi/Ginger in tamarind Sauce

Puli ingi is nothing but ginger and chillies in tamarind sauce. You can call it a instant pickle because you can prepare immediately and there is no soaking or settling time like in many other pickles."Puli Ingi"is a part of of the Onam festival menu.
My mother used to make it often and we use to enjoy it with curd rice and sometimes even with dosas.

Cauliflower Rice/Sadam

I would say i dedicate this recipe to my dad.He is the one who came up with this simple recipe. He loves cauliflower and would not mind having it daily in his menu.
This cauliflower sadam is my father's invention. He used to love cauliflower and used love eating it in any form.I remember him going for his evening walks and buy three or four cauliflower at a time and plan a menu for each one and my mother would religiously follow whatever he says.As far as this rice we used to have it every Sunday during cauliflower season.Another such invention of his is the Cauliflower Kootu which i have posted earlier.

Peas Paratha

I have not tried making 'Green Peas Paratha' until now.I have only eaten it at a resort, when we went on a holiday The chef specially made it for us,piping hot,for breakfast ! it was so yummy!! Since then, whenever I find fresh green peas somewhere, I would want to try it out and today I got the chance ! I have been wanting to try this one from last winter. This season, you get good variety of green peas everywhere , so I decided to make it today.I thought it would be a long process but surprisingly it was not.I made the wheat flour dough little soft than you usually make for phulkas, so it was really easy rolling!!!!
