Coconut Burfi

Coconut burfi is one of the easiest of sweets to make.People usually make it during Diwali or sometimes even during Gokulashtami. My mother used to make it when I was little. It is one of the traditional sweets so i  want to keep a record of it.This is how i made it.

You will Need

  • One cup Scraped Coconut
  • One cup Sugar
  • Few broken Cashewnuts
  • One tbs of Ghee
  • One pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Half a pinch of Edible camphor

How to

  • Fry few broken cashewnuts and keep it aside. In the same pan heat scraped coconut and sugar together.(let the coconut be white).

  • Let the sugar melt and becomes thick syrup.

  • Add the fried cashew nuts, edible camphor and Cardamom powder.

  • Keep stirring for few minutes in medium heat until the sugar crystalises and starts  sticking to the sides.

  • Pour it on a greased plate, smoothen with a flat surface on top and cut it into desired shapes when it is still warm.
