Honey Chilli Potatoes/Indo Chinese Recipe

                                                   I was thinking on what to make for my next post in the blog as i was flipping through the food channels in TV i watched this recipe it seemed familiar.Yes we have had it few times in cafe coffee day.It is a chinese version of French Fries.It is tasty and simple and easy to make.If you want to wrap up some fast food for your chinese food craving this is it!!!!!!

You will Need

  • 3 Potatoes 
  • 2 tbs of Corn Flour
  • 1 tbs Red Chilli Sauce
  • 1 tbs Sesame seeds
  • 3-4 Red Chillies
  • 1 tsp chopped Garlic
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Soya Sauce
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped Spring onions 

How to
1.Wash peel and slice the potatoes like you chop for french fries.
2.Drain the water and wipe it off in a tissue papaer. 

 3.put them in a wide bowl add corn flour,red chilli sauce and salt.
4.Toss it well so that the corn flour gets coated well on the potatoes.
5.Deep fry them in hot oil.
 6.Remove and drain in a tissue paper.
 7.Heat oil in another pan crackle seasame seeds.
 8.Add torn red chillies or chilli flakes.
 9.Add finely chopped garlic and saute for 30 seconds then soy sauce,vinegar and honey.
 10.Add the fried potatoes and toss on high flame for few seconds.
 11.Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve immediately.

  • You can use frozen ready made french fries in which case you can avoid the corn flour and chilli sauce.
  • You can use red chillies or chilli flakes while sauting the potatoes.
  • It tastes best when eaten hot.You can make it in batches if you are making large quantity.
