Tawa Pulao is a popular street food in Mumbai(Bombay).As the name suggests it is made on the tawa used to make Pav Bhaji.Tawa pulao is usually made with Left over rice.Left over rice is tossed with few vegetables and masalas and made in to a very tasty masala rice.
you can either use leftover rice or use Basmati rice if you are making with fresh rice.I have been wanting to make this rice for sometime now and was looking through a lot of recipes and all of them have the same basic recipe with slight variations.Here is my version of it......
You will Need
How to
1.Boil the mixed vegetable of your choice after dicing them.Cook one cup of Basmati rice with two cups of water. Allow it to cool.
2.Heat butter in a pan crackle cumin seeds and add sliced onions and fry them.
3.Once it starts to get brown add ginger garlic paste and fry.
4.Add the chopped tomatoes,salt and turmeric powder.
5.Once the tomatoes get mushy add the pav bhaji masala powder and chilli powder and the chopped capsicum.
6.Once the masalas coat the vegetables, add the boiled vegetables and give it a toss.Let the capsicum be crisp.
7.Switch off the stove add the cooked rice and mix well.check for salt add if required.you can add a tbs of ghee at this point.
8.Garnish with coriander leaves and lemon juice.
Enjoy this instant pulao with curd or raita!!!!

- One Tomato
- Half a Capsicum
- One Potato(diced)
- One Carrot
- Handful of Sweet Corn
- Handful of Green peas
- Two tbs of Butter
- One tsp Cumin seeds
- One tsp Ginger garlic paste
- A pinch of Turmeric powder
- One tsp Chilli powder
- Half tsp Sugar(optional)
- One tsp Pav Bhaji Masala
- Few Drops of Lime juice
- One tbs Coriander leaves
- Salt to taste

Notes
- You can add few more vegetables of your choice according to availability.
- Adjust the chilli powder and pav bhaji masala powder to your taste level.You can add two slit green chillies for extra spice.
- Left over rice or Basmati rice both works well.
- Best way to finish your Left over rice!!!!!!
