Eggless Banana Bread

After the Banana-Walnut muffins, I wanted to take a shot at Banana Bread. It's quite similar to the Muffins, except that you bake it in a different shape. The banana-in-bread combination is really quite tasty and the smell of the bread baking is mouth watering !

You will Need
  • One cup of Flour
  • Two small Bananas
  • Half a cup Butter
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1tsp Vanilla essence
  • 1/4 cup of chopped Walnuts
  • 1/2tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2tsp Baking soda
  • Half a cup Milk

How to :(preheat the oven to 190 degrees celcius)
1.Seive the flour with baking powder and baking soda in a wide bowl and keep it aside.
2.Blend the bananas in the mixer with some milk into a puree.
3.Whisk the puree, melted butter and sugar into a smooth paste. Add the vanilla essence.
4.Make a dent in the flour; Add the puree slowly and mix it gently.Add the walnuts.
5.Grease the baking tray with some butter and pour the mixture.
6.Bake it for 30 minutes or until it becomes slightly brown on top.
7.Keep a watch after 25 minutes. It might get baked in 27 minutes like mine.
8.Insert a tooth pick and see if it comes out clean.

  • The dough should be in a thick pouring consistency. If it is too thick add some milk.
  • If you like, you can add a pinch of salt to the flour when you are seiving.

Hi Jaya..

What should be the consistency of the mixture when you pour it into the tray and get it ready for baking?
