Vella Sevai|Jaggery flavoured Rice sticks

                                                                  Yummiest of the sevai is " Vella sevai".My mother used to make the rice sticks at home and make different flavours like lime,coconut,vellam and Pulikachal sevai.But now it is too tedious for me to make the rice sticks at home so i buy the instant rice sticks and flavour it the same way like she did .



You will Need
  • 200gms of Instant rice sticks
  • 200gms of Jaggery
  • A pinch of Cardamom powder
  • A pinch of Edible camphor
  • Few Cashew nuts
  • Few Raisins
  • Two Tbs of Scraped Coconut

How to
1.Boil the rice sticks as per instructions in the packet,drain in running water and allow it to cool.
2.Powder the jaggery and dissolve it in 1/4cup water and boil.
3.When it completely dissolves filter it for impurities.
4.Heat the jaggery further until it becomes thick(paagu).
5.Allow the jaggey also to cool add the coconut,cardamom powder,camphor and the rice sticks.
6.Saute the cashews inghee till light brown and the raisins and pour over the rice sticks.
7.Mix well and allow it to sit for a while so that the sweetness gets absorbed by the rice sticks.
