Aloo Palak/Spiced Potatoes in Spinach Puree

I think i have already posted few palak recipes and that is how health freak i am.yes this is another subzi or gravy (accompaniment)for rotis(Indian breads).Basically you boil the potatoes, dice and saute them with all the spices and simmer in palak or spinach puree.

You Will Need

  • Three bunches of Palak
  • Two big Potatoes
  • Three Garlic pods
  • One small piece of Ginger
  • Two Green chillies
  • Few tbs of Butter
  • One tsp of Cumin seeds
  • A pinch of Turmeric powder
  • Half a tsp of Chili powder
  • Half a tsp of Garam masala powder
How To

1.Wash and clean the palak and simmer in boiling water for 3-5minutes.
2.Add the ginger piece, garlic and green chili while boiling.
3.Cool and just blend it in the mixer into a coarse paste.
4.Pressure cook the potatoes  for 3 whistles peel and dice them.
5.Heat butter in the pan saute cumin seeds and potatoes.
6.Add salt, turmeric, chili and saute the potatoes for few minutes.
7.Add the palak puree and boil for two minutes.
8.Add Garam masala powder and serve hot with Indian bread.

Suggestions

  • Keep the masalas mild so that the real flavour of palak comes out.
  • You can drizzle a little bit lime juice or fresh cream just before serving.
I am sending the recipe to the event  below

I can't wait to make this. It looks delicious! As do all of your dishes! I'm definitely making the green pea curry too.
