I decided to try something different today so looked for recipes in Tarla dala's book and looked at Maharashtrian Recipes and decided on Vegetable kohlapuri.The ingredients were different slightly so decided to make a dhal fry along with it in case the kids do not like it(it was a back up).Let me give you the Recipe for both.
You Will Need (for the kohlapuri)
To be ground in to a paste
Method
1.Heat oil in a pan and fry onions till brown.
2.Add the ground paste and tomatoes and cook till oil separates.
3.Add the vegetables,salt,garam masala and 3/4 cup water and bring it to a boil.
4.Serve hot garnished with the coriander leaves.
Dal Fry
You Will Need (for the kohlapuri)
- Two cups of boiled mixed vegetables
- Two Onions chopped fine
- Two Tomatoes chopped fine
- One and half tsp of Garam masala powder
- Few tsp of Oil
- Salt to taste
- Two tbs of Coriander leaves
To be ground in to a paste
- 1/4cup Dessicated coconut
- 3 dry red chillies
- 3 pods of garlic
- Small piece of ginger
- 1tbs of Poppy seeds
- 1tbs of Sesame seeds
Method

Dal Fry
- One cup of cooked Moong Dhal
- One Onion chopped
- One Tomato chopped
- One green chilli chopped
- One piece of Ginger chopped
- One tsp of coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
- One tbs of Lime juice
- Two tbs of Ghee
- One tsp of Cumin seeds
How To
1.Heat Ghee in a pan fry cumin and add onions,chilli,ginger and fry.
2.Add Tomatoes and fry further and add salt.
3.Add the cooked Dhal and some water and allow it to boil.
4.Add lime juice and garnish with coriander leaves.

Came out good. Just finished making it. Will have it with rotis for lunch today.
