Stuffed Buns

                                                        One more bold attempt in baking.After seeing the lovely posts about these buns I thought I should also try. I tried it out a couple of times and then got it somewhat right, after which I got the confidence to blog it .I have eaten this stuffed bun in one of the kids birthday parties.It was really new to me, at that time. Now I am comfortable making them.


You will Need
  • One and half cups of flour
  • Two tsp of Active dry yeast
  • Half a cup warm milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Half tsp of  Sugar
  • Olive oil for kneading and brushing
For the Stuffing 
  • Two Potatoes
  • One Onion
  • Few pieces of Carrot
  • One tbs of Peas
  • Turmeric powder
  • Chilli powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • Coriander leaves
  • Half a tsp of Garam masala powder

For the Filling

  • Heat oil in a pan, saute chopped onions till brown.
  • Add boiled and mashed potato,carrot and peas.
  • Add salt,turmeric,chilli powder,garam masala powders.
  • Saute for one minute and add chopped coriander leaves.

How to(you can also refer to Paneer Bun for step by step pictures)

  1. In  warm milk add yeast,salt and sugar and leave it for ten minutes.(until frothy)
  2. Take the flour in a large bowl and make a well in the middle.
  3. Add frothy milk to the flour little by little and knead in to a soft dough.
  4. Apply oil in your hand while kneading.Cover the dough and leave it for an hour.
  5. The dough would have doubled in portion.Divide the dough into six portions.
  6. Knead and make small disc and place some filling at the centre and seal from all sides.
  7. Repeat for all the buns.Place them on the baking tray brush with milk or olive oil on top and leave it covered for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven at 190 degrees celcius and bake for 12-17minutes or till it becomes brown.



Suggestions

  • You can make your own filling according to your taste.

Is there a way to use something else other than milk for this recipe.
