Chocolate Burfi

This is the most simple diwali sweets i have known. My friend makes it every year and i thought i should do it atleast for the sake of blogging. It requires very few ingredients and takes only very few minutes to make this yummy chocolaty sweet.Kids would love it!!!

You will Need

  • One cup Milk Powder
  • One cup Sugar
  • Quatre  cup ghee or Butter
  • One tbs of Cocoa powder
  • 1/4cup water
How to
1.Dissolve sugar in 1/4 cup water and heat in a thick bottomed pan.
2.Once it dissolves completely and when it starts boiling lower the flame and add the milk powder, cocoa powder and butter or ghee and mix well.

3.keep stirring and heat in  medium flame.when it starts bubbling from the sides.grease a plate with ghee or butter and keep it ready.
4.Heat for one more minute and pour it in the plate.

5.Let it cool for 30 minutes and cut it into desired shapes.

Enjoy!!!

Notes
  • The whole process takes only 3 minutes. It takes 3 minutes only for the given quantity. In case you are making more increase the time.
  • Do not worry if the burfi is still gooey after you pour it on the plate. It hardens every hour.
  • You don't need to spread it on the plate when you pour it.It spreads on its own beautifully.

Hi swarthy tksu. I am not sure about real chocolate because it is usually melted by double boiler so preferably use powder.

Hi swarthy the possible reason could be it was over heated.if you had removed it from fire few minutes before it would be fine.even I never got it in the first shot!

I tried this recipe this Diwali, it's a refreshing break from the usual Mysore pak and regular barfi,s. Thank you for sharing it.
