Medhu Bonda or Pakoda can be called Instant Bonda because it can be made instantly without any soaking or grinding.We have not made it often at home but I have always seen it in most of the tea shops and used to drool over it. I found the recipe for that and made it at home.It is really yumm and you should really eat it with a cup of tea!!!
You will Need
3.Add water and make a paste like shown in the picture.
4.Scoop out a small portion of the dough with your hand or spoon and drop it like a ball in hot oil.fry 4-5 bondas each time. Fry in low to medium flame so that it cooks evenly and in the inside of the bonda.
5.Cook evenly on sides till golden brown and drain it out.
6.Drain in a tissue paper so that extra oil is absorbed.
You will Need
- One cup of Gram Flour
- Half cup Rice flour
- One tbs of Rawa
- One Green chilli
- One tsp Chopped Ginger
- Chopped Coriander Leaves
- One tsp Red Chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- Four Tsp Ghee
- 1/4 tsp cooking Soda
How to
1.Rub the ghee and the soda with your fingers to get a frothy paste.
2.To that paste add gram flour,rice flour,rawa,chilli powder,salt,chopped onions, green chilli,ginger and coriander leaves.3.Add water and make a paste like shown in the picture.

Notes
- The soda and the ghee makes the pakoda/bonda soft , so do not skip it.
- You can add a handful of cashewnuts(broken)while mixing the dough for a extra tasty pakoda.
- You can use chopped small onions instead of big onion.
