Black Channa Salad/Chaat

                                                         I have eaten salads with Kabuli channa,black eyed peas and sprouts in many restaurants and at home rarely but not the black channa.It is healthier than the white channa.It has a lot of health benefits and very nutricious and filling salad.It is oil free,sugar free,fat free and protein rich and fibre rich.
I have started making more and more protein rich foods now a days one such inclusion is the bean salads or you can call it Black channa chaat!!!!

You will Need

  • One cup Black Channa
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 1 medium sized Tomato
  • 1 Green chilli
  • Lemon Juice to Taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat masal powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Roated Cumin powder
  • 1 tbs Chopped Coriander leaves

How to
1.Wash and soak the channa overnight or for 4-6 hours

 2.Pressure cook with salt for three whisltes and five minutes in low flame.
 3.Let it cool down,add chopped onion,tomatoes,coriander leaves,lemon juice,chilli powder,cumin powder and little salt and toss it.
 4.Add chaat masala powder.
 5.Finally add lemon juice and toss it once again.
Enjoy the salad as it is or refrigerate for an hour and have!!!!!
Notes

  • Add chopped mango pieces and cucumber pieces if you would like to.
  • You can sprout the bean and make salad it is even more healthier.
  • If you are adding mango pieces check the amount of lemon juice you are adding.
  • You can have the salad warm or cold.
