Penne Arrabiata/Pasta Recipes

                                                               Penne pasta is the most favourite of all pastas to most of the children.Most children are fond of this pasta and I don't know why???My kids are not an exception to this rule.They love penne arrabiata especially in the restaurant in chennai called 'creme centre'.I like only their (creme centre) pasta.I think it suits our Indian tastebud so it is perfect according to me.My kids get really excited when I make pasta at home.Usually when I make pasta it becomes dry with not enough sauce today I made it with lot of care that it has enough sauce.Let us see the recipe...


You will Need(serves 2-3)

  • 200 gms Penne Pasta
  • Three tbs of Olive oil
  • Six Tomatoes
  • One Onion
  • Few Garlic pods
  • One tbs Chilli Flakes
  • One tsp Oregano
  • Half tsp Parsley
  • Salt to taste
How to
  • Put the Tomatoes in boiling water,switch off and wait for ten minutes.Take it off the water peel the skin and make it in to a puree and keep aside.

  • Put the pasta in boiling water and boil it till it gets cooked and drain it.Sprinkle a tbs of olive oil on it and keep it aside.(boiling takes about 7-10minutes)



  • Chop the onions and garlic.Heat olive oil in a pan saute chopped garlic in it for a minute.Add the chopped onions and fry till transculent.





    • Pour in the tomato puree,add salt and chilli flakes and let it boil for three minutes or until it reaches a sauce consistency.

    • Add oregano and parsley leaves. 


    •  Add the boiled pasta and give it a good toss. 

    • Transfer in to a serving dish and garnish with shredded cheese if you prefer.



    Notes
    • Boil the pasta in lot of water.Do not over boil it because it might break when you toss it.
    • Adjust the amount of garlic,salt,chilli flakes,parsley and oregano according to your taste.
    • You can use ready made tomato puree instead of blanched tomatoes.
