Pasi Paruppu Sundal

                                                                            It is Navrathri and it is time for sundal recipes.You can check Spicy peanut sundal,Kadalai paruppu Sundal,Greengram sweet sundal and the payasam recipes for a quick reference for Navrathri.Payatham paruppu or paasi paruppu sundal is the most easiest of the sunda.There is no soaking or pressure cooking required.It is really ideal for one of those days when you have not planned or forgotten to soak any bean.It cooks really fast and it is easy to make.

You will Need
  • One cup Pasi paruppu
  • Few Red chillies
  • Few Green chillies
  • One tbs of Oil
  • A generous pinch of Asafoetida
  • Salt to taste
  • One tsp Mustard seeds
  • One cup Scraped Coconut
How to

  • Wash and soak Pasi paruppu for 15 minutes.

  • Boil the paruppu with some salt until you are just able to break but not mushy.It cooks reall soft so just be careful.Keep stirring in between.
  • Strain it without any moisture in the dal otherwise it will get sticky.
  • Heat oil in a pan crackle mustard seeds,asafoetida and green chillies.Add the boiled dal and mix well.Add the scraped coconut and give it a stir.If you prefer add some lime juice.(optional)
