Dhokla

                                                                   Few of my friends requested me to post some after school snack recipes for children so i thought let me give it a try and this is the first one.Dhokla is a Gujarati snack somewhat like the south Indian idly.It is quiet simple and healthy because it is steamed.Have a look!!




You will need

  • One and half cups of Gram flour
  • 3/4 cup of Curds
  • 3/4cup of Water
  • Eno fruit salt 2tsp
  • Few Green chillies
  • Small piece of Ginger
  • Salt to taste
  • One tbs of Lime juice
  • Two tsp of Sugar
  • Few tbs of Oil
  • One tsp of Mustard seeds
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

How To

  1. Grind two green chillies and ginger to a smooth paste.Add paste to gram flour, curds,salt,sugar,lime juice and set aside for half an hour.Grease a flat steaming vessel generously with oil.
  2. Add eno fruit salt to the gram flour mixture and pour it immediately in to the greased plate.

  4.Steam it in the pressure cooker or a steamer for 20 minutes.cool it Turn it upside down on a plate cut it into squares and season it with mustard seeds.sprinkle scraped coconut,coriander leaves and chopped green chillies.
Serve with coriander chutney.

I tried this receipe te dhokla but it becomes dry tell me how can i make softier nd spongy dhokla

Moisture would have been less try adding more curd hope it helps
