Sago Idli/Javarisi Idli

                                                                    You want a variation of the normal routine idli you can try this one.Yes sago idli soft and tasty idly i made recently.Try it with any khara chutney or Peanut chutney it tastes good.

You will Need                 
  • 3/4 cup small size silky Sago     
  • One cup Idli Rawa
  • One green chilli
  • One small piece of Ginger
  • 1/4 cup Scraped coconut
  • 11/2 cup sour Curds or Buttermilk
  • One tsp Oil 
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • Few Cashew nuts
  • Salt to taste
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves






How to
1.Wash and soak sago and Rice rawa in curds or buttermilk for minimum 8 hours.

 2.In the morning it would have abosorbed all the moisture.You can add some water to get the consistency.
 3.Heat oil in a small pan crackle mustard seeds,add cashew nuts and allow it to brown switch off the stove add chopped ginger,chopped green chilli and curry leaves and pour in the dough.further add coriander leaves,scraped coconut.
 4.Add salt and mix well.
 5.Pour in the idli plates and steam it for fifteen minutes.
 6.Wait for few seconds and remove from the idli plates.
Enjoy the soft idlis with some Khara chutney or Peanut chutney.
Notes

  • You can add a pinch of Baking soda just before steaming the idlis.
  • If you do not have Idli Rawa you can use upma rawa or raw rice brokens.
  • In case you forget to soak overnight soak for 2-3 hours and add sour curd and soda before steaming.
  • Using sour curd or buttermilk is important to make these idlis.
