Bhatura or Bhature Recipe

                                                        Bhatura or Bhature is a deep fried Indian bread very popular in north India and especially in Punjab.It is very similar to poori which is made with wheat flour but the bhaturas are made with Maida(refined fllour).
It is usually served with Channa masala or Chole,some Sliced onions and lemon wedges.It is a very tasty dish and Most kids would love it.In restaurants they make a plate size Large Poori but at home people make half the size of it.
When we were in college chole bhatura used to be our first choice of order in the canteen and i am making this after a very long time so hoping to enjoy the bhatures with chole this evening.....





You will Need
  • Two cups of Maida flour
  • One tsp Sugar
  • Half a tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  • One tbs of Rawa or Sooji
  • Half tsp Salt
  • Two tbs of Curds
  • Oil to knead and Fry



How to

1.Pass through a seive the flour,baking powder and baking soda.
 2.Mix the seived flour with salt,sugar,rawa and curds and mix in to a pilable dough.
 3.If required add some water to make a soft dough.
 4.Apply oil in your hands because it will be sticky and knead the dough.
 5.Cover with a damp cloth and leave it for 2-3hours.
 6.After few hours apply oil in your hands and make the dough in to equal sized balls.
 7.Roll them in to required sized pooris.Let it not be very thin.
 8.Drop it slowly in hot oil and press at the centre so that it fluffs up.
 9.Turn it and fry on the otherside also.drain in a tissue paper.


Enjoy them when it is hot with Channa or chole and sliced onions and lemon wedges it is heavenly!!!!!!
